Board of Directors Responsibilities Include:

• Establish the appraisal district's appraisal office
• Employ a Chief Appraiser
• Review and evaluate chief appraiser's performance
• Adopt the appraisal district's annual operating budget
• Contract for necessary services as recommended for approval by the Chief Appraiser
• Employ a Taxpayer Liaison Officer
• Make general policy on the operations of the appraisal district
• Provide for Public Access

The Board of Directors Does Not appraise property, hears protests or makes decisions affecting appraisal records.
The Board of Directors has no authority to set values or appraisal methods and are forbidden from discussing values with the Appraisal District.
